Itchy throat refers to an discomfort feeling in the throat. This imbalance usually occurs together with a cough, a dry throat and a hoarse voice. 🍐  🍯 🍐

 Here in this article we will discuss the second imbalance,  which is Lung 🫁 Yin deficiency. 

2/4 Lung Yin Deficiency 

This imbalance ofter arises from chronic disease which consumes yin( body fluids) or heat evils that lingers in the Lungs 🫁 🍊 🍊 🍊. It may also be due to over- sweating due to malpractice., leading to damage of lung yin.🫁 . The Lungs 🫁 are responsible regulating water passages and for nourishing the whole body with fluids.. So if there is lung Yin deficiency,  the throat may not be sufficiently nourished, and , moreover,  Yin deficiency fire may flame upward. If this fire 🔥 is effluent, pain in the larynx will occur. If the fire 🔥 is weak, itching will occur instead. 

 Symptoms: Itchy throat, cough with clear, thin phlegm,  possible slight pain in the throat,  inhibited voice, nasal congestion,  a heavy voice, runny nose with clear mucus, sneezing,  fever, aversion to cold, headache,  pale red mucus membranes in the throat,  and thin, white tongue coating. 

 Principle Treatment: Course  wind and scatter cold. The tea that is suitable for this imbalance is Fang Feng Silkworm Tea.

With Raw Licorice Root, disseminates Lung-Energy, expels Phlegm, resolves toxicity, and expels pus for productive cough with hoarseness, pain and swelling of the throat due to Wind-Heat.
Radix Glycyrrhizae   Clears Heat, relieves Fire toxicity, moistens the Lungs, resolves Phlegm and stops cough.
With Balloon Flower Root, for pain and swelling of the throat.
Radix Saposhnikoviae   Releases the exterior and expels External Wind and Cold.
With Japanese Catnip, for Wind-Cold or Exterior patterns in any season.
With Japanese Catnip and  Periostracum Cicadae, for dermatological disorders with rash, irritability and itching.
Flos Schizonepeta   Releases the exterior, expels Wind, vents rashes and relieves itching.
With Mint, releases the exterior to induce sweating, disperses Wind in the head, vents rashes and alleviates itching.
